Living in Santa Barbara: Dancing Dreams - Rene Garcia-Hernandez and AMP’s Artistic Impact in Santa Barbara
In this podcast episode, we're thrilled to introduce Rene Garcia-Hernandez, who is the executive director of AMP (the Arts Mentorship Program) in Santa Barbara. AMP is a nonprofit organization that supports young individuals in exploring dance, movement, and performing arts. Their main goal is to assist and mentor emerging artists in the Santa Barbara community by offering creative guidance and financial support. Besides, they're starting preparations for a fabulous public showcase that's definitely worth checking out!
Dancing isn't just enjoyable; it can also have a significant impact on mental health and well-being. Research indicates that dancing can uplift mood, combat depression, enhance brain function, promote happiness, and even strengthen relationships. Moreover, it can aid in psychological coping and contribute to overall well-being.
AMP provides a range of programs, including the Scholarship Mentorship Program, Rent Subsidy Program, NO Limits, Student Performance Companies, and Inclusion Coalition.
